Mozilla Firefox, the popular open source browser that made its début in 2004, just crossed a major milestone by reaching over a billion downloads -- barely five years later. You can find the announcement at the Firefox Counter on Twitter. The official celebrations will take place on Monday at the One Billion Plus You website.
Firefox 3.5, the latest release, on its part is heading rapidly towards an impressive 100 million downloads, with more than 5 million downloads within the first week of its release.
