Marcos Baghdatis Upsets David Ferrer At Australian Open
Marcos Baghdatis marched into third round at Australian Open upsetting 17th seed David Ferrer on Thursday. The unseeded Baghdatis who was two sets down initially recovered from his painful cramp to finally clinch the victory.
The finalist at Melbourne Park in 2006 seemed to be very positive as he fought back his way to victory over Ferrer by 4-6, 3-6, 7-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Cheered by the large groups of Greek and Cypriot fans, Baghdatis had a slow start before he finally found his range in the third set. The Cypriot, with his Sydney International win last week is one of the strongest contenders in the draw.
