Tata Motors will also unveil a new Jaguar luxury saloon at the event which will be the new XJ model that was earlier launched in June 2009. The variants will be powered with a 5.0-liter petrol (385 PS, supercharged 510 PS) and 3.0-liter diesel engine with 275 PS.
Saksena said Indicruz would be positioned in the market to compete with Volvo XC 90, Honda CRV and General Motor’s Captiva. It will be the company’s first multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a cross over of three existing models. The vehicle will come with features such as airbags, cruise control and automatic climate control. He said it would be priced competitively as all these utility vehicles were priced around Rs 20-25 lakh each.
“Our engineers have been working hard at get the best features and you will see the result at the Auto Expo in New Delhi”, Saksena said.
