UCLA continues to make a strong run at USC’s rich recruiting class by scoring two more elite recruits late in the day.
The Bruins landed the 54th top recruit in the country, 6-foot-1, 200-pound running back/safety Dietrich Riley, who CBS/MaxPreps recruiting expert Tom Lemmings believes might be the most versatile player in California.
A St. Francis High School (La Canada) senior, Riley picked the Bruins over Southern Cal, Notre Dame and LSU.
The other recruit is josh shirley, a physical and fleet 6-2, 225-pound outside linebacker from Kaiser High School in nearby Fontana, Calif. He picked the Bruins over USC, Arizona, Miami and Washington.
Shirley is the No. 9 outside linebacker in the nation according to Lemming.
