michael devito | michael devito bu, michael devito boston university Michael DeVito is a competitive eater and hot dog eating champion, and three-time winner of the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, in 1990, 1993 and 1994. DeVito is 6 feet 2 inches and weighs just over 200 pounds (pre-competition). He set a personal best, eating 20 hot dogs, buns included, in the standard 12-minute competition period.

DeVito is a resident of Manalapan Township, New Jersey.Boston University Sophomore Michael Devito, 19, was found dead early this morning at the Sigma Chi fraternity house. Police responded to a call about an "unconscious person" at the house, located at 50 Gardner St., sometime around 8:30 a.m., according to a Boston Police spokesperson. When officers arrived emergency medical technicians were applying CPR on DeVitowho was then transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. DeVito was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Boston University Police Chief Thomas Robbins stated that there is no evidence of foul play inDeVito's death. The investigation will be handled by the Boston Police.

“Our prayers and our hearts go out to his family and to those who knew Michael, his death is a great loss to the Boston University community,” said Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore.

Michael DeVito was a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences at Boston University.

A remembrance for DeVito is being held at 6 p.m. in Howard Thurman Center, on the lower level of the George Sherman Union on campus. The university is also offering grief counselling services to students at the department of behavioral medicine at Student Health Services.
