Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Oezil has heaped praise on new winter signing Emmanuel Adebayor, claiming he is a "top class striker".
Adebayor arrived on loan from Manchester City in January and scored on his home debut against Real Sociedad last week.
"He arrived here from England where he scored a lot of goals," he told the club's official website.
"He's a top class striker and we knew right from the start that he understood the team well. He's a great guy and I'm very pleased to have him in the squad."
Oezil also reflected on this upcoming La Liga clash with Espanyol and claimed he expects a "very difficult" encounter.
"It's definitely going to be very difficult," he added. "Every team that plays Real Madrid tries their very hardest to beat us.
"We need to just stick to our game and try to score goals. I'm certain that if we do that we can win the match.
"Our main goal is to pick up three points despite the fact that they're a tough side. We have plenty of great players in the squad so if we stick to what we know best then we can win the game."
